By " normal lodges" I take it you mean Craft Lodges or Blue Lodges. If so then the rule is that only jewels pertaining to Craft masonry are permitted to be worn in Lodge and no other.

Hopefully, you will pardon the question from a Newbie, but if that is the case, why are Holy Royal Arch jewels not only permitted, but AIUI encouraged, to be worn in the Craft Lodge.

Is this because (in some respects) that Chapter is considered an "official" extension to the Craft, whereas the other appendate bodies are not?

Under UGLE yes, under Grand Lodge of Scotland no. In Scotland the Royal Arch is a separate and independent organisation not governed by Grand Lodge.

And so it is also in UGLE-land - under the Supreme Grand Chapter, which is a separate organisation from UGLE, although some of it's administration is done by the same people as for the Craft. Yet the Royal Arch is 'indissolubly linked' to the Craft and is declared to be part of 'pure Antient Masonry'. Sort that out if you can!

So, Chapter is 'indissolubly linked' - yet separate ?? (28)

Quite so, newly initiated 'Uninitiated' (you'll have to change that!). Furthermore, the 'indissoluble link' which ought to be on the UGLE web site seems to have dissolved (20) A few years ago there was a link but I cannot find it on this new 'improved' site they now have. I've mentioned it to them a few times but, hey, who listens to the Lodge fodder (19)
